Reviving Prayer is a ministry that teaches biblical discipleship to Christians. Our focus is to encourage Christians to yield to the Holy Spirit while praying over others so that they may be literal Spirit-empowered witnesses as they build and edify the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 14). Reviving Prayer was birthed out of a small prayer meeting in a house and is now a ministry and movement of God that meets at Central Assembly in the Fusion Center in the of Springfield Missouri.
The Great Commission in Matthew 28 commands Christians to, “Make disciples of all nations.” At Reviving Prayer, that is our ultimate goal. God is using this ministry to train, equip and mobilize His church – the body of Christ. When coming to Reviving Prayer on a Saturday night, one can expect to engage in worship, listen to and inquire about the Word of God and also to be used as a vehicle of the Holy Spirit during prayer.
How We Started
Reviving Prayer started as small Bible study in the house of an Evangel University student named Shawn Downey with Mitch Easter. Reviving Prayer grew into a prayer service after becoming to large to fit in the small house. A university professor at Evangel University let the prayer service meet at a church called Solid Rock in Springfield Missouri. After meeting at Solid Rock Assembly for two years, Reviving Prayer united with the Young Adult/College ministry at Central Assembly in Springfield Missouri, and now meets in the Fusion Center at 7pm Saturday night. We have moved from young adults to a Saturday night service for Central Assembly.
